The much envisaged debut of mobile banking in Nigeria is about to become a reality, as Diamond Bank Plc, in partnership with MTN Nigeria, is set to unveil the Diamond Y’ello Account, a mobile telephone banking platform which allows customers to open and operate a full bank account via their MTN mobile phones without the need to visit a bank branch.
The official launch of this product will take place tomorrow Friday 8th August 2014, as officials of Diamond Bank, MTN and other stakeholders in the partnership will converge at the WheatBaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The much awaited launch is poised to usher in a bold, new, digital banking world to MTN customers everywhere, as subscribers to the product will be able to open an account, save money, make purchases and even apply for loans, all at the touch of the button on their mobile phones.
All customers registered on the MTN network are automatically eligible for the service. To open an account, interested customers should dial *710# and follow the prompts.
